Field Museum
Second field trip
One of my favorite things to do when having a field trip during class. The Field Museum is the place where we were going for our second field trip. After a whole rainy week, yesterday was mostly sunny. It wasn't a good day for girls to go outside. The sun was shinning directly in the street. We were enduring the high temperature and hot sunlight, my T-shirt all got wet. The Field Museum maintains collections of over 24 millions objects. That was giant and spectacular.
When I just entered into the museum, I noticed that a huge dinosaur bones right ahead me. I was looking around and many people were taking picture by standing near this dinosaur. This is the largest, most complete dinosaur bones ever found in the world. Its name is Tyrannosaurus Rex. I saw it has two sharp claws. That helped me to imagine how it catches its "food". Also, it has two long legs and I thought it would run as fast as sport car. Pretending I was in their generation, I could't survive one second for sure.
The Field Museum is one of the a few museums in this country where collecting an ancient Egyptian tomb. The tomb was located in lower level, so I had to go down with a winding stair. When I was in down stair, I found a mummy is lying in the coffin. I hadn't seen mummy before my teacher gave me this chance. However, the mummy wasn't the one that I had known. It was huge different, they weren't being bandaged or it has been erosion in several years. Even though they has been died for a long time, they has still been preserve well. That was incredible amazing.
The last place where I had visited is The Ancient Americas. I thought this collection was the biggest part in this museum because I spent a lot of time or maybe this was the most interesting part that I have seen on Thursday. I found a character model which was riding a horse with traditional clothes. According to her dress up, I thought she was living in grassland in ancient America. Her horse also dressed like her. That was beautiful.
I have spent almost three hours in Field Museum, and I have visited many great ancient collection. That expand my horizon and my experience was increasing. Additionally, I really appreciated my teacher who gave me that chance to visit this museum. That's the most amazing museum I have ever seen.
