First field trip
Every student has their own field trip memory. Yesterday was a nice day, I just had 2 hours class, and then it was our first field trip. Shedd Aquarium was a very crowded place because it was free for resident. We was in a long line. The sun was right above my head, so I suffered a lot of sun light so that my T-shirt all got wet. When I got into the museum, I felt comfortable because I was getting cooler. It was a incredible and spectacular view inside. I knew it was going to be a lot of fun.
What I saw first is the Beluga Whale. There were white and looked cute. Even though their body is giant, they are not cruel, but docile. I observed them carefully, and I found their blowhole would close and open. Underwater, Whale can hold its breath for 20 minutes. What a big vital capacity. They were breathing by using the blowhole. This made me think of my teacher ever said that Whales are mammals, they need to breath. Moreover, the staff worker told me that they eat 30-50 pounds of seafood everyday. Wow! The food intake is according to the proportion of weight.
Secondly, I moved to the penguins area. They were surprising me that they were smaller than what I thought. I used to believe that all the penguins are as big as the one in the TV. Anyway, black and white is their skin color. They have a big head, short neck and long body. It looked like they don't have neck. Poor penguins. The world has 17 penguin species so that they are different with the one I saw in TV. However, I still have a question. Penguins used to live in a place where is in a low temperature. How can they survive in normal temperature.
Finally, the Amazon river area was so crowed, guess there were something fun. Sure enough, I noticed a giant fish which it is so strange for me. Their tails are bigger than their head, it seemed they are very hard to keep their balance, but they can swim freely. I got the information that they are the biggest fish in Amazon. I estimated this fish can reach 2.5 meters and weight up to 400 pounds. If I have it for food, I will finish it for more than 3 days.
As expected, it was an amazing experience. When I was looking at those animals, I realized this world is so wonderful. There are still a lot more animals existing in this world that I never see it. If I have change, I would like to discover them.
